What is Transcendental Meditation?

Transcendental Meditation is a very simple, effortless, natural , mental process that is practised for 20 minutes twice a day sitting in a comfortable position with eyes closed.

During Transcendental Meditation the mind settles down to experience quieter levels of thinking and transcends the thought process and goes beyond thought to experience the source of thought — pure awareness, also known as transcendental consciousness. This is the  most silent and settled state of consciousness – characterised by a state of restful alertness, deeply rested but wide awake inside. The brain functions with significantly greater coherence and your body gains very deep rest, deeper than sleep.

Free Introductory Talk on Transcendental Meditation

 Most people find the best way to find out about TM is to come to one of our free introductory talks. No commitment is implied by coming, you will hear how you do TM, how it differs from other sorts of techniques, and can ask any questions you may have.

The next free introductory talk is on Thursday  25th September at 7pm,  and is held at The Meeting Room, Finsbury Public Library, 245 St John Street London, EC1V 4NB  (Angel tube station in Islington is a 7 minute walk away)

You’d be very welcome to attend the talk. There is no charge for these talks, but I’d appreciate you dropping me a line to let me know whether to expect you.
